  • Natalie’s Garden Tea Party

    Natalie’s Garden Tea Party

There was a white curtains and a few flower arrangements. The color scheme was soft and muted, with shades of pink, cream, and gold, giving the event an elegant and sophisticated feel.

The guests were a mix of family and friends, all gathered together to celebrate Natalie’s first birthday. Rachel had spent weeks planning the perfect party, carefully selecting each dessert and decor item to create a beautiful and memorable experience for everyone.

As the party got underway, guests mingled and chatted, taking in the stunning view and enjoying the delicious treats. The macarons were light and fluffy, with a delicate sweetness that melted in your mouth. The iced cookies were intricately decorated, with tiny details that made them almost too beautiful to eat. The cake pops were a hit, with their whimsical flower decorations and delicious cake centers.

But the real showstopper was the naked cake from Pikabu. It was a work of art, with layers of moist cake and creamy frosting, topped with fresh berries and edible flowers. Guests couldn’t stop marveling at its beauty, and once they tasted it, they were hooked. It was the perfect centerpiece for the elegant tea party, and Rachel couldn’t have been more pleased.

As the day wore on, Natalie’s excitement grew. She was surrounded by love and laughter, and she couldn’t have been happier. She played with her toys, danced to the music, and even tried to sneak a taste of the desserts when no one was looking.

As the sun began to set over the ocean, the party drew to a close. Rachel thanked her guests for coming and for making Natalie’s first birthday so special. As the guests left, they couldn’t help but feel grateful for the beautiful day, the delicious treats, and the stunning view. It was a celebration they would never forget.

  • Joey’s Pantone Party

    Joey’s Pantone Party

Working with Sarah and Kevin for their third baby girl Joey was an absolute pleasure. Sarah is a remarkable, talented, and creative person, which made it all the more interesting to see what she had envisioned for her daughter’s party. She had many unique ideas, but was not quite certain about what she wanted.

After some brainstorming, we decided to go with a Pantone color theme, inspired by Sarah’s desire for a minimal and uncluttered look. We selected a beautiful color palette of mustard, mint, and pink, and incorporated some of Sarah’s cute ideas into the overall concept.

The event was held at the Carmel Mountain Country Club, a stunning venue with plenty of natural light. Angela at Wednesday Cakes created an exquisite cake, cake pops, and cookies that perfectly matched the color scheme. We also personalized Japanese pocky boxes into Pantone cards with each child’s name. We also, displayed a snack wall with colorful Asian snacks and sweets.

The children had their own table, decorated with a colorful balloon garland and activity sheets at each place setting. We also included a bouquet of balloons and an activity for each guest to complete at every table.

I am so pleased with how the theme turned out, and everything looked beautiful. It was an absolute joy to work with Sarah and Kevin, and I wish them all the best with their beautiful baby girl, Joey.

  • A BOHO Chic Dream

    A BOHO Chic Dream

Ainsley Rose, what a lovely name for a new arrival! The boho chic baby shower held in honor of this little one was just as beautiful and unique as her name. Hosted at the stunning Flower Child in Del Mar, the shower was a perfect blend of nature, creativity, and love.

The DIY aspect of the party was evident everywhere you looked. From the carefully crafted dream catchers hanging from every corner to the intricate macrame backdrop, each detail was a labor of love. The custom silhouette banner and signs added a personal touch to the event, while the activity packages prepared for each guest made sure that everyone had a memorable time.

The dreamcatcher signin board was a true standout, a beautiful piece of art that will undoubtedly become a treasured keepsake. All in all, the boho chic baby shower for Ainsley Rose was a magical and unforgettable celebration of life, love, and new beginnings.

  • A Little Prince Charming

    A Little Prince Charming

Like any mother, I dreamt of my son becoming a little prince charming one day, treating a special girl like a princess. Last weekend, we threw an incredible party for Zachary, fulfilling a mom’s dream and a personal party bucket list item at the same time. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

The main table was the centerpiece of the party, adorned with a Z crest for Zachary and a stunning two-tier cake from Wednesday Cakes, topped with a golden crown. Cupcakes decorated with sparkly crowns and matching cake pops completed the theme. The color scheme was blue, white, and yellow, with a touch of gold. Flowers of various heights and shapes created a beautiful table scape. The mom even made a special request to incorporate their family dog into the decor.

We held the party at the Bernardo Heights Country Club, which was the perfect size for the occasion. We created beautiful floral arrangements for the head and guest tables and showcased a balloon garland. I had always wanted to try making a balloon garland, and I was thrilled to finally cross it off my bucket list. It was surprisingly easy to make, and I may even create a tutorial someday when I have the chance.

  • Pokemon Training Camp

    Pokemon Training Camp

The day of the party had finally arrived and the excitement in the air was palpable. My son woke up extra early, eager to start his special day. I had spent weeks planning and preparing for this event and I was eager to see everything come together.

As we arrived at the FIT Athletic Club, we were greeted by the staff who had set up a special section just for us. The pool was sparkling in the sunshine and the jumpy house was inflated and ready to go. The lifeguard on duty greeted us and went over the safety rules with the kids before they jumped into the water.

I could see the excitement in my son’s eyes as he ran from activity to activity, completing each training exercise with enthusiasm. He loved the activity sheet and was eager to show off his knowledge of all the different Pokémon. He was also thrilled with the handmade pokeballs and spent so much time searching for them all over the place, catching each one with a triumphant cry.

The jumpy house was a hit too, with the kids jumping around like Magikarp and trying to outdo each other with their best moves. And when it came time for the swim like Gyarados exercise, the kids were eager to show off their skills in the water.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered around the picnic tables to eat cake and delicious desserts from Wednesday Cakes. My son was beaming with pride as he received his official certification as a Pokémon trainer.

Looking back on the day, I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It was the perfect celebration for my son’s fifth birthday and a day that he will surely remember for years to come. And as we drove home, exhausted but happy, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for all the memories we had created together.

Training Exercise 1: Intelligence Gathering. I had a custom activity sheet for the kids to color and to ‘guess that pokémon’.

    IMG_4357

Training Exercise 2: Gotta Catchem’ All. I handmade pokeballs out of Ping-Pong balls and hid them all over the place so the kids could go catch all the Pokémon. Anyone need Pokeballs I have a lot… heehee

    To make:

    1. Get Ping-Pong balls from the dollar store
    2. Get Red acrylic paint or spray paint
    3. Use black tape to make the line
    4. Printed small circles and hand cut and glued them to the balls.

  • A Botanical Garden Party for Meritt!

A Botanical Garden Party for Meritt!

Once upon a time, there was a cute and happy little girl named Meritt. Her family had planned a dreamy garden party to celebrate her special day. The party was just gorgeous, and everyone was in love with how it turned out!

The garden was decorated with a perfect palette of muted blush pink florals and simple eucalyptus. We had worked together with the staff at Red O and their team to bring the vision to life. The result was a beautiful blend of traditions for Meritt, incorporating her Korean and Chinese roots.

The party had all the traditional Korean customs, such as dduk rice cakes and doljabi, and they also added a nice twist of Chinese traditions. One of the highlights of the celebration was an amazing dragon dance that really wowed and entertained all the guests.

There were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The kids had a blast with the crafts, balloon twister, and amazing caricaturist. The Red O team provided awesome food and service, and there were yummy snacks for everyone to munch on.

The desserts and cake were made by the talented three50bakes, and everyone couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were. It was truly a feast for the senses, and Meritt was the happiest little girl in the world!

As the sun began to set, the party slowly came to an end, but the memories of the dreamy botanical garden party would last a lifetime. It was a perfect day filled with love, laughter, and happiness, and i’m sure Meritt felt so grateful to have such an amazing family and friends who put together such a wonderful celebration for her.

  • Oh What Fun Otis Is One!

Oh What Fun Otis Is One!

We were beyond excited when we booked our first real client. It felt like all of our hard work and dedication had finally paid off. The client was a lovely family who wanted to celebrate their son Otis’ first birthday, which is known as dohl in the Korean tradition. They had a cute monkey theme in mind, as Otis was born in the year of the monkey according to the lunar calendar.

We wanted to create something special for Otis’ dohl, and decided to stay away from the typical jungle theme. Instead, we opted for a clean and simple look using black, white, and yellow as our primary colors. We also incorporated plenty of bananas into the decor to tie in with the monkey theme.

The party was to be held at Eclipse Chocolate in San Diego, which was a beautiful venue. We worked closely with the staff to ensure that everything would run smoothly and that we could incorporate all of the traditional elements of a dohl.

On the day of the event, we arrived early to set up and make sure that everything was perfect. The room looked stunning with our black and white decorations and the adorable monkey-themed accents.

As guests started to arrive, we could feel the excitement in the air. Everyone was eager to celebrate Otis’ big day. The traditional dohl ceremony was held, and it was a beautiful moment for the family. The highlight of the party, however, was definitely the cake smash! Otis had an absolute blast smashing into his monkey-themed cake, and the guests loved watching him.

Overall, the event was a huge success. The family was thrilled with how everything turned out, and we were so happy to have been a part of it. It was an incredible feeling to see all of our hard work pay off, and we can’t wait for our next event!

    Here’s how it turned out:

  • Black and white unicorn Korean 1st birthday!

Black and white unicorn Korean 1st birthday!

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when Grace and Daniel hosted their daughter Blake’s first birthday party, also known as dohl party, at the Brick and Laurel event space in La Mesa. Grace had a specific vision for the party, and she wanted it to be a modern take on the unicorn theme. So, our help, she created a super cute and stylish celebration.

The venue was decorated with a black and white color scheme, accented with pops of pink. The room was adorned with unicorn-themed graphic designs, and pink sequins shining. The venue had an urban vibe that perfectly suited the modern style that Grace was aiming for.

The guests were greeted with packaged matching candy bags, snacks, and popcorn, which they could enjoy while mingling with other guests. The favors were beautifully adorned with unicorn tags, adding a touch of magic to the party.

The real showstopper was the cake and cookies by Wednesday Cakes, which were almost too beautiful to eat. The cake was a work of art, with a white unicorn horn. The cookies were also decorated with unicorns and geometric patterns, tying in with the party’s theme.

Throughout the party, Blake was dressed in an adorable black and white dress with a unicorn horn headband. She was surrounded by her family and friends, all of whom were enjoying the festivities.

Overall, the party was a huge success, and Grace was thrilled with how everything turned out. It was a modern take on a classic theme, and it perfectly captured the fun and magical spirit of a dohl party. Blake and her guests will surely remember this party for years to come.

Pink, purple, green and blue Isabelle is turning 2

Cute little Isabelle turned 2 not to long ago! The party was held at a ceramic paint studio called A Colorful Universe at the flower hill promenade in Del Mar! So it was perfect to have a paint party theme! Her parents spared no expense and went all out to make the kids and adults thoroughly entertained and fed. They ordered food from Flower Child and had custom coloring sheets, cupcake palette decorating, tile painting, and so much more! Kids had a blast!

  • DIY Tassel Garland

    DIY Tassel Garland

My nieces 10th birthday party is coming up next week. We decided to decorate some of the tables with some tassel garlands. So I figured why not create a simple tutorial for you as promised. Please let me know if this is helpful. I’ve watched many tutorials and read DIY articles on how to make these things and found them to be confusing so I came up with my own easy way to create them. I don’t know if this is the right way to make them, but it works for me and they turn out great. So here goes:

    Supplies you will Need:

    1. Tissue Paper
    2. Scissors
    3. Washi Tape
    4.  Hot Glue Gun (optional)

(Note: in this tutorial each sheet of tissue paper makes 4 long skinny tassels)

    Supplies you will need
    Mint and Gold Washi tape
    1. Layout the sheet of tissue flat (horizontal). Try to smooth it out so that your tassel strands are straight a pretty.
    one sheet of tissue laidout

    “Amazon

    2. Fold  the flat horizontal sheet over from left to right.  (please note in the bottom photo I flipped the folded sheet above so that the folded edge is on top)

    3. Fold the above sheet again from left to right. Open the fold and cut all the along the folded line to form 2 sheets.

    4. Keep the Folded edge on the top. Take 1 of the sheets above and fold it over left and right again and cut down the middle. Repeat this to the 2nd sheet and now you should have 4 skinny rectangle strips like the one below.

    5. Fold one of the sheets 3 times in the middle (see below)

    6. Open up one fold and cut down the middle leaving an inch near the folded end uncut. Make sure to cut down the side that is not folded. You should leave the folded edge uncut about an inch.

    7. Open another fold and cut down the middle again leaving an inch uncut.

    8.  Open it up again and cut the last strip, leaving an inch.

    9.  open up the tassel and gently spread it out flat like a spider.

    10. Start gathering and rolling the tissue in the middle

    “Amazon

    11.  Tightly twist the middle part

    11.  Twist and loop the two sides together creating a ring.

    12. fasten the looped part with some glue or washi tape

    13.  And ta-da— you have a tassel… now make 100 more and you have a tassel garland… heehee easy-peazy

    14.  Example of 2 tassels…. left has 2 folds and thicker strands. Right has 3 folds and thin strands.

    15. Here is a bunch of the tassels in various colord…

  • The Ultimate Party Bucket-list

    The Ultimate Party Bucket-list

As I surf the web and pin things on pinterest, I mentally create a “bucket-list” of things I would like to create from the “Party-land-world”. There are so many things out there that are beautiful and so HOT right now. Here is my ultimate bucket-list of things I have tried and would like to try in the near future.

(PLEASE NOTE: All photos on this post were found on the internet)

    1. Balloon Garland – I am seeing the simple latex balloon reinvented everywhere to be more lavish and grand. The simple latex balloon used to be a childish party decoration but now it’s turned into a beautiful display and centerpiece. You can make your own DIY garland by ordering lots of  12″ Latex White Balloons on amazon.

    photo from: OH It’s Perfect

    2. Donut wall – Donuts have been the new craze like the cupcake was. It’s like people are in the search for the best donut out there and we must try it all. The more extraordinary the toppings the better. So now I see it being displayed everywhere at parties from donut cakes to now a whole wall full of donuts. You can find DIY tutorials on line but basically you will need a Pegboard and dowels.

    Photo from: Oh Happy Day

    3. Giant Latex balloons adorn with tassels – This was the new craze a couple of years ago. I first saw them when I was planning my Son’s first birthday party and really wanted to have it. They used to be like $200 a pop for each balloon. It was insane! Now you can make it yourself and buy the Giant 36″ balloons online.  They even sell already prepared kits at Michael’s and even at the dollar section at Target.

    Photo from: Geronimo Balloons

    4. Tassel Garland – This has been done so many times but it’s still beautiful and fun to make. Not only can you garnish your giant balloons but you can also decorate your party with these hanging tassel garlands. I will be creating a tutorial of my simple way of making a tassel garland soon.

    Photo From: Love Garland

    5. Paper Flower Wall – OMG I thought this was the most beautiful thing ever, when I first saw it. I wanted to make one for my son’s 1st birthday party even though he’s a boy. I just think if you make it all white, it will be a gorgeous textured wall backdrop. Now these walls are made all over the place. People sell hand made giant flowers online and they even offer paper flower kits at michaels as well. Definitely not a new thing anymore, but it’s still so pretty.

    6. Greenery Wall backdrop (hedge backdrop) – I see these living walls everywhere now. Even at Souplantation. Is it played out? No, I don’t think so. It’s so beautiful and gives a refreshing pop of green to your party. This wall can make your party simple and clean or it can be adorn with branches and flowers to create a chic rustic look. Either way it will add a huge wow factor to your party.

    Photo from: Vantastic Wedding blog

    7. Naked Cake – Some think this cake looks unfinished but I think it’s stunning and just gorgeous if made right. It’s beautiful and romantic all in one cake. I swear this is the HOT new cake style stearing clear of the ‘fully dressed’ fondant and frosted cakes. Plus who wants to eat all that frosting anyways right? Just kidding.

    Photo from: Borrowed and Blue

    8. Mylar number and word balloons – Just like the latex balloons, mylar numbers and letter balloons are making a comeback to all the hot parties. They are great to replace banners and great to take photos with. Everyone loves a good Photo op.

    9. cake pops – Cakes pops have been around for so long now. It’s not a new thing but they are definitely something pretty, fun and tasty for your guests to enjoy. Great for favors as well.

    10. Metallic Gold wooden name sign – These are just so beautiful at any event. I love it when these are displayed on a greenery wall like this one. This has pretty much replaced the old block letter names we used to see.

    Photo From: Graceful Charming Event

    11. Customized Etched Cake topper – All the cakes these days have been adorn with a beautiful cake topper. The personalized etched ones are definitely a show stopper.

    17127081_1293894657342243_2764491863695032320_n

    12. Watercolor – I have been seeing watercolor themes and looks everywhere lately. I even incorporated it into our logo at the moment. Not only have I been seeing it on graphics, but I also see it being made on cakes as well. The watercolor texture adds a colorful modern pop to the plain solid color graphics and cakes.

Sheesh the list can go on and on. I’ll keep you posted for other new things I find. Please write in the comments below if there is anything that I missed and should add to my bucket-list of the “party-land-world”.
