  • Natalie’s Garden Tea Party

    Natalie’s Garden Tea Party

There was a white curtains and a few flower arrangements. The color scheme was soft and muted, with shades of pink, cream, and gold, giving the event an elegant and sophisticated feel.

The guests were a mix of family and friends, all gathered together to celebrate Natalie’s first birthday. Rachel had spent weeks planning the perfect party, carefully selecting each dessert and decor item to create a beautiful and memorable experience for everyone.

As the party got underway, guests mingled and chatted, taking in the stunning view and enjoying the delicious treats. The macarons were light and fluffy, with a delicate sweetness that melted in your mouth. The iced cookies were intricately decorated, with tiny details that made them almost too beautiful to eat. The cake pops were a hit, with their whimsical flower decorations and delicious cake centers.

But the real showstopper was the naked cake from Pikabu. It was a work of art, with layers of moist cake and creamy frosting, topped with fresh berries and edible flowers. Guests couldn’t stop marveling at its beauty, and once they tasted it, they were hooked. It was the perfect centerpiece for the elegant tea party, and Rachel couldn’t have been more pleased.

As the day wore on, Natalie’s excitement grew. She was surrounded by love and laughter, and she couldn’t have been happier. She played with her toys, danced to the music, and even tried to sneak a taste of the desserts when no one was looking.

As the sun began to set over the ocean, the party drew to a close. Rachel thanked her guests for coming and for making Natalie’s first birthday so special. As the guests left, they couldn’t help but feel grateful for the beautiful day, the delicious treats, and the stunning view. It was a celebration they would never forget.

  • Joey’s Pantone Party

    Joey’s Pantone Party

Working with Sarah and Kevin for their third baby girl Joey was an absolute pleasure. Sarah is a remarkable, talented, and creative person, which made it all the more interesting to see what she had envisioned for her daughter’s party. She had many unique ideas, but was not quite certain about what she wanted.

After some brainstorming, we decided to go with a Pantone color theme, inspired by Sarah’s desire for a minimal and uncluttered look. We selected a beautiful color palette of mustard, mint, and pink, and incorporated some of Sarah’s cute ideas into the overall concept.

The event was held at the Carmel Mountain Country Club, a stunning venue with plenty of natural light. Angela at Wednesday Cakes created an exquisite cake, cake pops, and cookies that perfectly matched the color scheme. We also personalized Japanese pocky boxes into Pantone cards with each child’s name. We also, displayed a snack wall with colorful Asian snacks and sweets.

The children had their own table, decorated with a colorful balloon garland and activity sheets at each place setting. We also included a bouquet of balloons and an activity for each guest to complete at every table.

I am so pleased with how the theme turned out, and everything looked beautiful. It was an absolute joy to work with Sarah and Kevin, and I wish them all the best with their beautiful baby girl, Joey.

  • Curious Elijah

    Curious Elijah

Starting my Etsy shop has really been a blessing because I get to be connected to people from all over the place and hear their stories. Then somehow I’m apart of their babies 1st birthday party. I get to help bring their vision for their baby to life. It’s a pretty amazing experience that I never thought I would be doing for people other than my tiny circle of friends. Every mom or dad has a different theme or idea on what they are looking for. It’s my job to try and design what they are envisioning. There are endless possibilities.

I Just finished a custom series for a Curious George Dohl (Korean 1st Birthday) Curious Elijah is turning one! First of all this isn’t your typical dohl theme. But there are no restrictions when it comes to parties. They requested George to wear a hanbok (Traditional Korean Dress) and they wanted the designs to match their cake with bright colors of red, green blue and yellow. After researching all about Curious George and how things should look, I decided to make the series match the style of their book covers. Hope you guys like it.

  • Pokemon Training Camp

    Pokemon Training Camp

The day of the party had finally arrived and the excitement in the air was palpable. My son woke up extra early, eager to start his special day. I had spent weeks planning and preparing for this event and I was eager to see everything come together.

As we arrived at the FIT Athletic Club, we were greeted by the staff who had set up a special section just for us. The pool was sparkling in the sunshine and the jumpy house was inflated and ready to go. The lifeguard on duty greeted us and went over the safety rules with the kids before they jumped into the water.

I could see the excitement in my son’s eyes as he ran from activity to activity, completing each training exercise with enthusiasm. He loved the activity sheet and was eager to show off his knowledge of all the different Pokémon. He was also thrilled with the handmade pokeballs and spent so much time searching for them all over the place, catching each one with a triumphant cry.

The jumpy house was a hit too, with the kids jumping around like Magikarp and trying to outdo each other with their best moves. And when it came time for the swim like Gyarados exercise, the kids were eager to show off their skills in the water.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered around the picnic tables to eat cake and delicious desserts from Wednesday Cakes. My son was beaming with pride as he received his official certification as a Pokémon trainer.

Looking back on the day, I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It was the perfect celebration for my son’s fifth birthday and a day that he will surely remember for years to come. And as we drove home, exhausted but happy, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for all the memories we had created together.

Training Exercise 1: Intelligence Gathering. I had a custom activity sheet for the kids to color and to ‘guess that pokémon’.

  • A Botanical Garden Party for Meritt!

A Botanical Garden Party for Meritt!

Once upon a time, there was a cute and happy little girl named Meritt. Her family had planned a dreamy garden party to celebrate her special day. The party was just gorgeous, and everyone was in love with how it turned out!

The garden was decorated with a perfect palette of muted blush pink florals and simple eucalyptus. We had worked together with the staff at Red O and their team to bring the vision to life. The result was a beautiful blend of traditions for Meritt, incorporating her Korean and Chinese roots.

The party had all the traditional Korean customs, such as dduk rice cakes and doljabi, and they also added a nice twist of Chinese traditions. One of the highlights of the celebration was an amazing dragon dance that really wowed and entertained all the guests.

There were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The kids had a blast with the crafts, balloon twister, and amazing caricaturist. The Red O team provided awesome food and service, and there were yummy snacks for everyone to munch on.

The desserts and cake were made by the talented three50bakes, and everyone couldn’t stop raving about how delicious they were. It was truly a feast for the senses, and Meritt was the happiest little girl in the world!

As the sun began to set, the party slowly came to an end, but the memories of the dreamy botanical garden party would last a lifetime. It was a perfect day filled with love, laughter, and happiness, and i’m sure Meritt felt so grateful to have such an amazing family and friends who put together such a wonderful celebration for her.

  • Oh What Fun Otis Is One!

Oh What Fun Otis Is One!

We were beyond excited when we booked our first real client. It felt like all of our hard work and dedication had finally paid off. The client was a lovely family who wanted to celebrate their son Otis’ first birthday, which is known as dohl in the Korean tradition. They had a cute monkey theme in mind, as Otis was born in the year of the monkey according to the lunar calendar.

We wanted to create something special for Otis’ dohl, and decided to stay away from the typical jungle theme. Instead, we opted for a clean and simple look using black, white, and yellow as our primary colors. We also incorporated plenty of bananas into the decor to tie in with the monkey theme.

The party was to be held at Eclipse Chocolate in San Diego, which was a beautiful venue. We worked closely with the staff to ensure that everything would run smoothly and that we could incorporate all of the traditional elements of a dohl.

On the day of the event, we arrived early to set up and make sure that everything was perfect. The room looked stunning with our black and white decorations and the adorable monkey-themed accents.

As guests started to arrive, we could feel the excitement in the air. Everyone was eager to celebrate Otis’ big day. The traditional dohl ceremony was held, and it was a beautiful moment for the family. The highlight of the party, however, was definitely the cake smash! Otis had an absolute blast smashing into his monkey-themed cake, and the guests loved watching him.

Overall, the event was a huge success. The family was thrilled with how everything turned out, and we were so happy to have been a part of it. It was an incredible feeling to see all of our hard work pay off, and we can’t wait for our next event!

    Here’s how it turned out:

  • Black and white unicorn Korean 1st birthday!

Black and white unicorn Korean 1st birthday!

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when Grace and Daniel hosted their daughter Blake’s first birthday party, also known as dohl party, at the Brick and Laurel event space in La Mesa. Grace had a specific vision for the party, and she wanted it to be a modern take on the unicorn theme. So, our help, she created a super cute and stylish celebration.

The venue was decorated with a black and white color scheme, accented with pops of pink. The room was adorned with unicorn-themed graphic designs, and pink sequins shining. The venue had an urban vibe that perfectly suited the modern style that Grace was aiming for.

The guests were greeted with packaged matching candy bags, snacks, and popcorn, which they could enjoy while mingling with other guests. The favors were beautifully adorned with unicorn tags, adding a touch of magic to the party.

The real showstopper was the cake and cookies by Wednesday Cakes, which were almost too beautiful to eat. The cake was a work of art, with a white unicorn horn. The cookies were also decorated with unicorns and geometric patterns, tying in with the party’s theme.

Throughout the party, Blake was dressed in an adorable black and white dress with a unicorn horn headband. She was surrounded by her family and friends, all of whom were enjoying the festivities.

Overall, the party was a huge success, and Grace was thrilled with how everything turned out. It was a modern take on a classic theme, and it perfectly captured the fun and magical spirit of a dohl party. Blake and her guests will surely remember this party for years to come.

Pink, purple, green and blue Isabelle is turning 2

Cute little Isabelle turned 2 not to long ago! The party was held at a ceramic paint studio called A Colorful Universe at the flower hill promenade in Del Mar! So it was perfect to have a paint party theme! Her parents spared no expense and went all out to make the kids and adults thoroughly entertained and fed. They ordered food from Flower Child and had custom coloring sheets, cupcake palette decorating, tile painting, and so much more! Kids had a blast!

  • Happy Galentine’s Day

    Happy Galentine’s Day

    img_6899

I had no idea Galentine’s day was actually a thing, but apparently it was aired on an episode of Park and Rec… You can watch it on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GzNX3gI38M

On the video they were saying that Galentine’s Day was celebrated on February 13th with girl friends and that it should be a national holiday! It really should be a national holiday. I think every girl needs to celebrate at least one day out of the year with their gals. That would be awesome!

Anyways, one of my good friends Sara invited me to attend a Galentine’s Day celebration with some good girl friends and it was amazing. She did a spectacular job in setting up the event.  She had cute little signs everywhere, little mailbox place card holders, flowers and chocolates in the center. It was a day to remember for sure. We each enjoyed our dinner and drinks and took home a box of chocolates.

  • SuperHero Party!

    SuperHero Party!

    superhero-training-camp-sign

The superhero training camp party was in full swing, with kids dressed up as their favorite comic book characters, playing games and having a blast. I carefully planned this to try and make it an unforgettable event. The DIY Gotham City backdrop was the perfect backdrop for photos, and the handmade fondant superhero cookie toppers were a hit with the kids.

But one of the games stood out as a real crowd-pleaser: the “diffused Bomb Game.” It was a simple yet fun game that involved filling black balloons with small toys and candy, then letting the kids go wild trying to pop as many balloons as they could.

The rules were simple: there were no rules. The kids were free to go in and try to pop as many balloons as they could, with the promise of keeping the prizes inside. The game was like a pinata, but without the need for hanging anything and without the risk of young children swinging bats around.

The kids were excited as they saw the balloons laid out on the floor, waiting to be popped. They eagerly grabbed the balloons and started stomping on them, trying to find the prizes inside. Some kids were jumping up and down, trying to pop the balloons with their hands, while others were rolling over them.

As the game continued, the room filled with the sounds of laughter and popping balloons. The parents couldn’t help but chuckle as they watched their little superheroes go wild, trying to collect as many prizes as they could.

In the end, every child had a smile on their face, and the parents were impressed with the simplicity and fun of the “diffused Bomb Game.” It was a great addition to the superhero training camp party, and everyone left feeling like they had a blast.

It was a success creating a memorable and entertaining party for all of the young superheroes in attendance, and the “diffused Bomb Game” had played a key role in making that happen.
